I could have renamed this book The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold and Lisa. This book is totally off my beaten path. But none the less as I was drawn into Harold's journey. he became my friend and I was determined as he to see the journey through.

One of my all time favorite reads. A simplistic love story complicated by a grim and devastating war. The haunting prose and vivid imagery require readers to have a passionate patience to see the story to the end.
