Night is a Goyaesque tale set in Auschwitz that narrates the death of God in the soul of a child. The victim survives, carrying with him the shame of having once dreamed of becoming, in turn, an executioner. In Dawn, a tense meditation on Palestine under the British regime, the victim has become an executioner and must confront his dream come true. With Day, a love story set in New York, the certainty arises that the wound will never heal and that the only option is a white lie. First published in Spanish in 1975, this trilogy, along with The Diary of Anne Frank and the Auschwitz Trilogy, are universal and essential works for understanding that historical moment.
A Wiesel trilogy made up of a memoir and two novels which offer insight on mankind's attraction to violence and on the temptation of self-destruction.
