An interesting story from an African American woman and her life as a doctor in the ER and various administrative positions in hospitals. She is quite open about her experiences there with misogyny and racism. She also talks openly about her family life: her father was physically abusive to her mother and brother. The author also speaks openly about her own relationships, which include a painful divorce. She is an amazing women to have done so much with her life given the odds and difficulties.
