Black History Month Own Voices Children's Books

Tacoma Public Library invites you to celebrate Black History Month (and every month!) with a great selection of Own Voices black children's literature. Own Voices books are written or illustrated by people from the same community or culture as the characters depicted in the story. The featured titles cover both historical events and modern daily life, and include an assortment of picture books and chapter books. If you're interested in more titles, there are many more where these came from. Ask a librarian for help finding more great titles.
