Especially valuable for the chapter about the career of H.D., originally Hilda Doolittle, about whom I had often heard named but read little. Her devotion to poetry despite a complicated personal life is evident; I was glad to see that she accomplished her desires and did not give up. Much fascinating detail also about Sayers, as it relates to her novels, and about the impact of WWII on Woolf. Extremely readable insight into writers' worlds.
