Despite Zoe Kazan being one of my favorite actresses, I was a little let down by this movie. Having heard such good things, I was expecting a 5/5 film. There was plenty of good here. The humor was on point. The story was compelling. It touched on difficult topics without being boring. Perhaps my only issue with the movie was the chemistry, or lack-thereof, between the two leads. Their relationship felt completely artificial. It skipped over large segments of the relationship and expected us to fill in the gaps. That made their motivations in the final third of the film seem forced. That said, I still very much enjoyed the movie. The relationship between Kumail and his girlfriend's parents made the movie worth a watch alone.
