Within the first thirty pages or so two spelling errors were a distraction. The writing itself was barely ok. Miranda Rader originated in a "poor white trash" family and is now struggling to overcome that past as a police officer. Then she goes to bed with her partner early in the book. Erica Spindler lost me right there. I am not a prude but I disliked Miranda's backstory and behavior and lost any sympathy I might have had for her.
