I read about this book in a Baffler article called, um, "F***ing the Patriarchy," which reviewed three new novels by female writers that offered up a distinctive feminist perspective, as well as a critique of masculinity. "Conversations with Friends" is the debut novel by Irish writer Sally Rooney. It's not always pleasant, but it is unfailing sharp, insightful, and smart. The other two novels mentioned in the article are "Neon in Daylight" and "Asymmetry."
