Most romances tell the story from the heroine's point of view so the reader knows she is in love and pines for the hero before we are certain of his feelings. In Arabella, Beaumarais succombs first, and his gentleness toward her is very affecting. As usual, Heyer has crafted an entertaining story with engaging characters.
