Anne of Green Gables is such a charming story. Everything about it adds to how sweet it is. Anne herself is quirky and exuberant, and the way she goes about the world is so full of wonder. Her friendship with Diana is a story in itself, and her way of exploring and discovering the new world around her brings a kind of pride and self-assurance with it that is one of her unique character traits. I think I read it at the perfect time to relate to this dynamic character, and I would thoroughly recommend this book to all. It’s a true Canadian classic, and it’s one of the books that shapes the minds of youth everywhere. - @freckleface675 of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library Anne of Green gables by L.M Montgomery was an adventurous book. When Anne arrives at her new home, she is surprised to see that the family was expecting a boy. Anne is a girl with long orange hair, and has a very active imagination. She soon starts to make some new friends, but trouble always seems to be right around the corner when it comes to Anne. Even at school she starts to get bullied for her hair so she dyes it green. This was such a funny heart filled book. I rate this book three out of five stars. - @SDJ of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library L.M. Montgomery works her magic in this intelligent novel depicting the story of a bright and outspoken orphan named Anne. She was accidentally picked out from her foster home to live with Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert, siblings on Green Gables. From there she faces dejection, hope and love as she becomes Anne of Green Gables and goes through a series of events that are the epitome of her youth and a pleasure to read. Tragedy, passion and growth are all highlighted during Anne’s journey to be a pride and joy to all of Prince Edward Island. All the characters are also descripted nicely from Rachel to her friends. A classic to be adored for years and years by all age groups, with equal parts fun, family and the whole deal. Rating 5/5 - @jewelreader of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library
