Summary

Sometime, Caddie got the idea that if she didn't touch, if there was no skin to skin contact, bad things wouldn't happen. This idea develops into a generalized anxiety disorder that overtakes her teenage life. She struggles to overcome this challenge and do what she wants without fear or anxiety. She wants to act in her school play, hug her friends, date a boy. But through it all, there is that incessant voice in her head calling, "Don't touch. Don't touch. Touch and everything will fall apart."
