I don't generally read chickbooks; as Marvin says in As Good As It Gets: "I think of a man, and take away reason and accountability." I almost discarded this film as at the start it seems to be ridden with vapid women, but I like Donald Southerland(and he rewarded me when I stayed with the film); so, I stayed with it, and it turns out that the two older daughters are very admirable effective women and it is a warm story. Only the nattering ninny mother and her three younger daughters are lacking any reason or accountability.
