Bachelor Girl is re-written by Foster Winans, ghost writer for Roger MacBride. The original book, Diverging Roads, by Rose Wilde Lane, was published in 1919. The book was serialized in Sunset Magazine from October, 1918-June 1919. Seattle Public Library has the Sunset magazines from these years. Can be read at the Central Library only. Scanners are available if you bring your own USB drive. In 1977 Roger MacBride, together with Edwin Friendly Jr. published another rewrite of the original Diverging Roads. "Rose Wilder Lane, Her Story, The Daughter of Laura Ingalls Wilder". Rose denied that Diverging Roads was autobiography, stating that she used some of the settings and events of her life, but nothing else.
