I am not a great fan of Baldacci's crossover books, with 2 or more characters competing for time in the story. In this one, Puller gets short shrift. Atlee Pine drives the story, but the convoluted search for her sister is getting tiresome. New revalations of Mercy give the impression that we're never going to get a real ending to that story line.

I thought this was a great read. I love of all of Baldacci's books. Of course you can't please everybody. But hey after all it is fiction, but I really enjoyed it. Some times real life stories can get so darn boring. I like the way he crosses over previous characters and mingles them. I don't know how he can write 2 novels in a year so well.

I usually enjoy this author's books a lot but was very disappointing with this one. Couldn't be bothered to finish. Overly convoluted and long winded.

Disappointing. As much as I look forward to this author's novels, this is one I couldn't be bothered finishing. Ridiculously complicated and far-fetched.

Awful! too long winded, ridiculous premise, so many things totally implausible! Thought of putting aside a nice miner of times, wish I had not wanted the time. I have read Baldacci for years, but no more.

I have read essentially all Baldacci's books. This one was OK, but I felt like there should be "another chapter" at the end. The storyline simply "stopped". I assume it is meant to continue in the next book but the ending here was not very satisfying.

I cannot wait to read the next novel with the Atlee Pine character. I want her to find her sister so bad. It took me a little time to get invested with all the characters in Daylight but once I did, it was, as most of the time, one that I stay up all night reading.

Baldacci overdid it with the bad guys / good guys , very tiring and disappointing .

A good addition to one of my favorite series. It wasn't as much of a page turner as the first two, but a good read. I like both the Atlee and Carol Blum characters. Carol is an older woman who is portrayed as smart and capable. Atlee is intelligent, brave and the kind of person you want on your side. I wish Baldacci would give her a love interest...I kinda thought Nick Laredo was going to fill that role and then we meet John Puller in this one and I have to say he's my kind of hero.

In the event a reader has missed the first two books, Baldacci gives readers a solid backstory in the first few chapters. That reading was kind of dry and read more like a junior high student writing an essay than a Baldacci adventure and thrill read. I wondered if he had a ghost write those because the voice was slightly different and dull reading. The dullness wasn't because I'd read the prior books and knew what had happened, but the writing just wasn't that solid. But once those introductory chapters are dealt with the story takes off. The story does have some gritty points but it's not overwhelmingly gory. Actually it's not gory at all but there are some fight scenes and I have to admit I liked reading Atlee take on some real a-holes.

There are two story lines that run both together and parallel. One is resolved because we are told it was -- but I wanted to hear more about that ending. The other is the thread that started in book 1 and continues on. The revelations on that one are jaw dropping. So far book 4 doesn't seem to be in the works but I'm hoping to hear more about it soon.

I love the character Atlee Pine. With this book you get (2) cases for the price of one. I look forward to the next book. I read this book through the “Cloud Library”.
