At the conclusion of The Mark of Athena, Annabeth and Percy tumble into a pit leading straight to the Underworld. The other five demigods have to put aside their grief and follow Percy's instructions to find the mortal side of the Doors of Death. If they can fight their way through the Gaea's forces, and Percy and Annabeth can survive the House of Hades, then the Seven will be able to seal the Doors from both sides and prevent the giants from raising Gaea. But, Leo wonders, if the Doors are sealed, how will Percy and Annabeth be able to escape? They have no choice. If the demigods don't succeed, Gaea's armies will never die. They have no time. In about a month, the Romans will march on Camp Half-Blood. The stakes are higher than ever in this adventure that dives into the depths of Tartarus.

This book is the fourth book in the Heroes of Olympus series, and it was absolutely amazing. After the extremely heart-wrenching cliffhanger that ended the third book in the series, “The Mark of Athena”, this book was so intriguing, and I absolutely loved it. I recommend this book to anyone who has read the first three books in the Heroes of Olympus series “The Lost Hero”, “The Son of Neptune”, and “The Mark of Athena”. If you enjoyed this book, you should definitely read the final book in the Heroes of Olympus series, “The Blood of Olympus”, and after that, the rest of the Camp Half-Blood collection by Rick Riordan. 5/5 -@teen_reader19 of the Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board

When they are retrieving the Pallas Athena statue, Percy and Annabeth fall into Tartarus, the deepest place on Earth. How will they get out? Was this part of the prophecy? How will the other five continue to fulfill the prophecy of seven without two important members? This book has more of a dark and hopeless air to it since it focuses on Percy and Annabeth’s journey through Tartarus and the struggles of the other five who are unsure if they are alive but still try to go to the Doors of Death. This book drives in the point that, throughout the series, nothing comes easy for the heroes. Ages 12+

Wow. Riordan strikes again. The fourth book in the Heroes of Olympus series kicks off strong as it follows Annabeth and Percy as well as the crew of the Argo II as they race against impossible odds. Annabeth and Percy are tested over and over again through their journey in Tartarus. It's well-written and I found myself looking forward to each chapter and what lies ahead for the demigods. It all leads up to the final book in the series and the tension shows as each point of view swaps into high-strung situations. It reminded me of Percy Jackson and the Olympians (although with more POVs) and why I had gotten into the series in the first place. I give this book a 4/5 stars.

This book is absolutely amazing. I love it with all my heart. Especially since Nico is gay; I love being represented. (If you ship Reyna and Nico, you are discounting a huge part of his story and are obviously an a$$hole).

The House of Hades was an amazing book due to the different perspectives we got to see throughout the novel. Whether it was from Percy and Annabeth in Tartarus, or the other five, it was always action packed. We get to look more into Hazel's past and thrilling powers, and see Percy and Annabeth fight to survive in the realm of of suffering for monsters. I enjoyed it very much.

OMG! I am so happy I got a hold Of this book. I have read all the books in the series except this one. The cliffhanger in the Mark of Athena was so good I almost WENT to the underworld to get this book. I am satisfied. Also if you haven't read the Blood of Olympus (the next one after this) I recommend. p.s. Be ready for a very disappointing cliffhanger/ending.

Also, it felt thrown in. Like, from a story standpoint it did nothing. and now i'm on a rant so I will leave.
