From acclaimed author Dr. Jason Fung, a revolutionary guide to reversing diabetes. Dr. Jason Fung forever changed the way we think about obesity with his best-selling book, The Obesity Code. Now he has set out to do the same for type 2 diabetes.Today, most doctors, dietitians, and even diabetes specialists consider type 2 diabetes to be a chronic and progressive disease-a life sentence with no possibility of parole. But the truth, as Dr. Fung reveals in this paradigm-shifting book, is that type 2 diabetes is reversible. Writing with clear, persuasive language, he explains why conventional treatments that rely on insulin or other blood-glucose-lowering drugs can actually exacerbate the problem, leading to significant weight gain and even heart disease. The only way to treat type 2 diabetes effectively, he argues, is proper dieting and intermittent fasting-not medication.

A life changing book and author. Intermittent fasting combined with feasting on low carbohydrate, high, healthy fats has resulted in weight loss and reversal of diabetes and hypertension for both me and my husband. We are both off all our medications. Dr Jason Fung is an experienced clinician, he has helped thousands of diabetic patients reverse their diabetes and he is able to present the science and the methodology in a clear, understandable manner. In a world where the calories in/calories out model is failing people over and over again, Jason Fung is the voice of reason.

I always like to know the "why" behind the "how". This books starts out describing the long term ramifications of Type 2 diabetes, then talks about biology of how the body processes sugar. It's not a diet book. It leaves you to research how to find the right food regimen to satify your bodies needs. While I'm not overweight with a BMI of only 20, I still need to control my blood sugar. I tried fasting over the weekend and found it not difficult, other than the urge to graze from my kitchen.
Well worth the time to read this book and build strategies for yourself.

Frigging excellent. Dr. Fung's clinical experience and expertise bolstered by his medically unusual willingness to use his own observations, common sense and bravery to admit that the "standard of care" i.e., drug model cannot heal what is a dietary disease has made hundreds of his patients and I hope readers, much healthier. His clear explanations of scientific biological principals and uncanny common sense are a winning combination towards greater health for all of us, diabetic or not.
