Romanticized biopic film of Queen's leader whose rise in the pop rock world was as unlikely as any other musicians. The 21 minutes of Live Aid 1985 concert performance of his biggest performance was recreated emotionally by Rami, also for later viewing in "Special features: The complete Live Aid movie performance not seen in theaters." (Bohemian Rhapsody - Radio Ga Ga - Ay-Oh! - Hammer To Fall - Crazy Little Thing Called Love - We Will Rock You - We Are The Champions)

Like a handful of legendary rockers before him, died too young.

For the original Queen's performance see "Videos"; nobody can match the persona of the real Freddie...

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and probably like most people I grabbed my Queen CD and listened to it in the car after watching the movie. The screenwriter took a lot of liberties with Freddie's life in order to add dramatic effect (for instance, FM was not diagnosed with AIDS until 2 years after Live Aid) and it was unfortunate that there was no mention of how well Freddie took care of his love Mary Austin after his death, or the fact that he was her son's godfather. No matter - the movie puts the viewer firmly in awe of the man that Freddie was. It was also good to see that the movie touched on the fact that several members of Queen wrote their songs - it wasn't all Freddie Mercury. I'm sure I'll watch this movie again from time to time, as it is that good and it transforms me back to when I was in college.

Great movie. Queen is the among the best in British rock bands from the '70-80's.

Saw the cinema release - it wasn't very good director or screenplay wise - lots of overused tropes .. however Rami Malek and cast elevated things with their passionate performance and the last 15 minutes that replay Queen's live Ethiopia Relief fund music concert makes it worth your investment of time.

Some very good performances and, if one likes Queen, great music. The plot itself is pretty standard Hollywood convention with two-dimensional good and bad guys. As a character, Freddie had some depth, but even there, it felt like the writers tried to fit him into the pre-determined plot arc, not the other way around.

A must see movie for Queen fans & Freddie Mercury fans, a real entertainer unlike the plastic people who call themselves stars today. The movie gives a flavor of his talent on stage, once you see the movie go on line and watch the full concerts absolutely brilliant, no lipsyn going there.

76 quotes posted in IMDb already, thanks to the contributors. Here are those on Freddie's chompers:

Reporter 2: Freddie, uh, your teeth! Why don't you get your teeth fixed?
Freddie Mercury: I live in Britain. I don't want to stand out.
Freddie Mercury: I have four extra incisors.

*** expanded quote on his incisors:
Our lead singer just quit.
-Well, then you'll need someone new.
Any ideas?
-What about me?
Uh, not with those teeth, mate.
- Freddie sang: I know what I'm doin' ... I got a feeling ...
The others harmonizing: Doin' all right
-I was born with four additional incisors. More space in my mouth means more range.
