"Jackie grew up fatherless and experienced gender confusion. She embraced masculinity and homosexuality with every fiber of her being. She knew that Christians had a lot to say about all of the above. But was she supposed to change herself? How was she supposed to stop loving women, when homosexuality felt more natural to her than heterosexuality ever could?" --

This book has so much to say to me, a straight person; and it's not about witnessing to, converting, nor condemning gay people.

Jackie Hill Perry shared her struggle(s) very personally; from the awkwardness of wearing women's underwear, to the ease of loving women, plus the temptation to flirt with a pretty girl. She lets readers inside her mind and heart.

My understanding grew. My compassion grew.

Jackie shared keys to perseverance, which we all need because we all struggle with our own sins.

Jackie writes, more than once, that God didn't deliver her from homosexuality. He delivered her from ALL sin. God's goal wasn't/isn't heterosexuality--the only answer many Christians give. His desire is salvation and an intimate relationship with Him.

Thanks for sharing this very important part of your life. I trust it will help many understand why being gay is something God gave you at birth!
