Season two follows Queen Elizabeth through the late 1950s and early '60s as she struggles to navigate a world that's changing around her. She must face the challenges of a new era, from the Suez Canal crisis to the assassination of John F. Kennedy, while preserving both the monarchy and her marriage.

Fascinating look at the Royal family in the context of current events and conventions of the time. I liked every episode.

Season Two of "The Crown" carries on the high standard that was set by Season One, telling the story of Queen Elizabeth II and those who surround her with emphasis on key historical and personal events that present the best opportunities for high drama. Well-cast and well-acted, with gorgeous sets and scenery, they spin a riveting yarn. As with Season One my only real quibble is that the dialogue and behavior often seems way too modern for the era being represented. Case in point: in the Kennedy episode, the private conversations shown between Her Majesty and Jackie Kennedy seemed uncharacteristically revealing and forthright for the era and what is known about the personalities of the women involved. But I love this series and look forward to what more is to come. Great fun for anyone who loves British history.

Details I've never read - not surprising, since I care little for the royals - I do like the historical aspect. Brilliant acting by most; sick of Matt S & the eye business; Matthew Goode looked awful - was he supposed to look so bad? If this is truly historically factual, one can almost feel sorry for P.Charles. Rather liked the manner JFK was portrayed, the great privileged, powerful few. Interesting how nothing was said about the traitorous behavior or Joseph P.K. the once Ambassador to Britain. Ready for the long wait to start the next series with a new cast. Alex Jennings is perfect as the Duke of Windsor.
