About halfway through this book I decided that the title made no sense whatsoever. It doesn't really read as a romance, or as an epic--rather, this is the story of teenagers who feel like real teenagers muddling through problems that feel like real teenage problems. Some days things seem great and everyone is flirting and laughing and hopeful, and then the very next day everyone is fighting with each other and not saying why and there's all this tense bitterness and none of it makes sense or seems like it could be overcome. So, you know, like real life, which I actually loved a lot.

Then I finished the book and I decided that the title was perfect, so. I think some people won't like this book--people who are mad about all the queer and interracial relationships, but also people who want a tighter, more directional story with more 'heroic' characters. But I love its realness, and strongly recommend it.
