Calling all Star Wars lovers! Ever wonder what the powerful Darth Vader is truly afraid of? Well look no further! This story by Adam Rex sheds light on this subject using his telltale sense of humor and charming illustrations. We learn that everybody is afraid of something, and that’s okay!
This book was excellent good fun! I read it out loud to my fellow coworkers (and Star Wars fans) in the back room while checking items in. It was a hit. The staff loved it and have been recommending it to anyone that will listen to us rave about how much we love it. If you or your kid is a Star Wars fan and you like getting really into to story time with a book that will make you laugh out loud, DEFINITELY check this one out.
A fun book for Star Wars fans with a little of the Monster at the end of this book flavor.
"Are you Scared, Darth Vader", is not your typical Star Wars picture book. While a great number Star Wars picture books tend towards direct adaptations of the films and related television shows, this one is a very different beast indeed. Author Adam Rex hits all of the beats that make his books so enjoyable—subversive humor, breaking the fourth wall and impeccably crafted artwork. This book explores the question of what could possibly scare the most notorious dark lord of the Sith. Obviously, Darth Vader is a tough nut to crack, but even he might have some phobias that keep him up at night. This book is reminiscent of classic Sesame Street book "The Monster at the End of this Book" in its format and has some great callbacks from the Star Wars universe, but one wouldn't have to be a fan to appreciate it. For optimal enjoyment, I recommend reading it out loud in you best Darth Vader voice!
Adam Rex does it again with this very funny Star Wars picture book. Darth Vader is scared of nothing, right? IF you need this book you will learn the truth about Darth Vader. There is a bright side to every dark side.
