"The enchanting story of a book shop, its grieving owner, a supportive literary community, and the extraordinary power of books to heal the heart. Nightingale Books, nestled on the main street in an idyllic little village, is a dream come true for book lovers--a cozy haven and welcoming getaway for the literary-minded locals. But owner Emilia Nightingale is struggling to keep the shop open after her beloved father's death, and the temptation to sell is getting stronger. The property developers are circling, yet Emilia's loyal customers have become like family, and she can't imagine breaking the promise she made to her father to keep the store alive. There's Sarah, owner of the stately Peasebrook Manor, who has used the book shop as an escape in the past few years, but it now seems there's a very specific reason for all those frequent visits. Next is roguish Jackson, who, after making a complete mess of his marriage, now looks to Emilia for advice on books for the son he misses so much. And the forever shy Thomasina, who runs a pop-up restaurant for two in her tiny cottage--she has a crush on a man she met in the cookbook section, but can hardly dream of working up the courage to admit her true feelings"-- Provided by publisher.

A charming valentine to lovers, books, and lovers of books. Think of it as a British sequel to “The Storied Life Of A.J. Rivkay.”

Really enjoyed this book. Took a little while to get into it, but was ultimately charmed by a wide cast of characters. Very nicely written, making reading time a sweet escape for anyone who would love to find love in a book shop.

An absolutely fabulous multi-protagonist story with a treasured bookshop as the focal point to their intersecting lives. I grieved, celebrated, and fell in love right along with each character. I will undoubtedly be seeking out more stories from this author.

I had a hard time getting through this book, it seemed to drag on and on and on. However, I was interested in the characters and what happened to them so I continued on and finished the book. I had seen the movie "Love Actually" and understood the many references of similarities in the two stories. I did finish the book and, of course, everyone lived happily ever after!!

This was the perfect, quick, summer read for a plane trip.

"Enchanting" is the perfect description. This book was recommended to me by a librarian friend who lives in Colorado. She wants to live in the bookshop. It is located near Oxford University in England, and I think the story would make a wonderful movie.

The story takes place around a bookshop. That makes this a literary book. Otherwise, sit back and live into this delightful read. Romance, finding happiness, and good endings.

Delightful story of a small town book store and the people who interact in the town. Many find love and friendship. I call it a fantasy but a very sweet one and I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book.

A perfect cozy weekend read. Endearing characters, bookish delights, scrumptious food, and English countryside ambiance. What's not to love?
