Didn't realise this wasn't a standalone novel. I also didn't realise that it wasn't content to be a Steampunk/alt-history adventure, but had to be a wizards, warlocks, fae and fairies bonanza as well. By the midpoint of the first chapter I was done with the combination of references to volumes I hadn't read and a mystical system that really didn't interest me.
The story continues. Marsh is still a wraith & Elle is searching for a way for them to be together but runs into a pirate along the way & loses more than her airship.
Great characters & lots of cool gadgets & creatures. My only complaint is Elle herself. The woman who was so entertaining in book #1 is still AWOL & continues to channel a self centred & petulant 5 year old. Getting a little old.
I thought this was a trilogy but apparently there is another book on the way. Hopefully she grows up in that one.
