I should really have read this book before Stolen Child, but I guess either way works. In a war-torn country under Hitler's rule, children are placed under supervision to make bombs in a factory. Lida is a Ukrainian girl who is determined to find out what happened to her sister, all the while trying to survive in her own harsh surroundings. She and her friends are truly inspirational in which they try to sabotage the bombs that they are making, to stop destruction. This story is really a reflection on what many in dark times had to go through, and it really pulls on your heart strings. The sorrow will really change how you view aspects in life, that we so frequently take for granted. 4/5 stars

I loved this book because it was very interesting to read and I never wanted to put the book down. I thought the book had a great story on being a prisoner of the Nazis and making it in the prespective of an eight year old girl made it even more interesting. I learned that Lida is a strong girl who will do anything to protect her loved ones. She would never give up or show any weakness.
Even though the Nazis were treating everyone horribly she did what she needed to do to reunite with her family and friends.

I loved this book and found it very interesting! Even though it was very sad about how they brought characters in and they ended up dying I learned a lot about how the Nazi's really treated people, and even though it was very short it was very well written! I found it really nice how her sister kind of found her! But overall it was very well written and a very good story line!

I really loved this book! I loved how the author wrote of how the kids in the olden days lived and how badly they were treated. I liked this so much because lots of kids canot relate of how the people in the ollden days lived or were treated. My favorite character is lida because she was so nice to everyone in the camps. The only reason I did not give this book 5 stars is because I thought the ending was really bad. Other than that it was a great book.

I loved this book SO much! I am pretty sure that I am going to vote for it! It was good because it was historical fiction and also because it was realistic.

If you're a lover of historical fiction like me, this is definitely a perfect book for you. This book shows a completely different side to World War 2, the side of a child forced to work.
Truly inspiring and heart-warming. A must-read for history gurus!
