After a lunar cataclysm brings the Klingon Empire to its knees, the foreign concept of peace with the Federation may be finally within reach. Ironically, it is Admiral James T. Kirk who is the first emissary to broker that peace. Yet all hope is virtually lost when the U.S.S. Enterprise and crew are implicated in the brutal assassination of a Klingon diplomat, bringing both worlds to the brink of full-scale war.

For the most part I agree with Bookreviewer. However, "peace" wasn't Kirk's original goal.

The best Star Trek movie! Giving peace a chance Trek style, Kirk and crew set out to stop a deadly conspiracy to forment all out war between the Federation and the Klingons!

Starring such greats as William Shatner and Christopher Plummer.

While I was sad to watch this film knowing it would be the last appearance of the original cast all together, I thought they went out with a bang! I loved every second of this movie. It was highly entertaining and left out none of the humor I've come to expect from Kirk, Spock and McCoy. Once again, the Enterprise and her crew come to the rescue. And what a rescue it was! And as if that all wasn't enough, Kirk ended the movie (except for the voice overs) with a quote from Peter Pan!

the last true star trek movie with the original series cast. this DVD has a feature in the subtitle menu that gives you very interesting "trekkie" info from start to finish.
