I was so excited to finally read this new book from Stephenie Meyer. It took me awhile to get into it. The beginning started with a third person narrative and lengthy detailed information which was a bit much. After the first 100 pages, it had parts where I couldn't put the book down, and couldn't wait to read it the next day. I think a lot of great parts, and to many lulls. Her love interest s/h been Kevin and where's Lola?

I think this author is a very good writer, especially when creating some memorable and unique characters. I was intrigued by this book's premise and for the most part, I enjoyed it. But it did go on far too long and was lacking in a few unexpected twists... kept waiting for a big surprise that just didn't happen. I found the chemistry side of the weaponry angle very interesting though!!

I read several of Ms. Meyers earlier books - Twilight series. They were mostly 2 -3 stars. I picked up in the new story section at MCPL and read the summary. Intrigued by that I went ahead and checked it out. From the first couple pages I was hooked. Finished it in three days. This was a good read, not a fluffy sparkly one.

While some might find parts implausible, I enjoyed the entire story. Epilogue was tad "soft". But I'd read it again.

There were many parts of the book that I enjoyed but it was unnecessarily long as well as unrealistic and contradictory near the end. I was left feeling unsatisfied.

A good spy thriller and suspense story with a female spy as the main character. It reminded me a bit of the Twilight series with one female and two male main characters.

I enjoyed this book having a strong female lead character. In so many spy/intrigue books, such as Bourne, males are the main focus. I did not like the Daniel character. He seemed too naïve and weak. I was hoping Alex, or whatever name she was using, would end up with Kevin. I enjoyed their character interaction much more than Alex and Daniel.

Was a pretty good book with a interesting plot, just was a little long and started slow.

I am an avid reader, and have enjoyed Meyers other books as quick fun reads - but The Chemist totally stumped me. I could not make it past page 50. The story was too convoluted and stuffed with unnecessary detail. Skip it.

I found the cat and mouse opening too formulaic to hold my attention. I finally quit. I've read her other books so that was sad for me.

Very different than the Twilight series. It was intriguing though it did start a little slow. Definitely not what I was looking for from Meyer. A chilling story.
