Many politically-driven books may not stand the test of time since the 2016 elections. This one does. Anyone interested in understanding, examining, and helping remove systems of oppression that affect people of color and queer people of color would benefit from reading this collection of essays from Mia's "Black Girl Dangerous" blog. Many of the essays are directed to black women, POC and QPOC to uplift and celebrate their lives. Others are directed at white people, detailing ways in which white americans can and must do better. Written from 2012-2014, much of the anti-racism work women of color like Mia did online can be seen here, and is entirely relevant and important in 2018.
