I disagree with many of the negative reviews. I think that for a Goodkind book this was to an elevated level. I'm checking every day to see if there is a sequel!

This book starts out with a clever, sci-fi concept: what if, in the Battle between good and evil, a chosen few can ID evil merely by looking in someone's eyes? However, it falters when it attempts a love story, which comes across as forced. Lots of gore and gratuitous sexual abuse of women. Aficionados of this genre (à la James Patterson, Ann Rule, and others) may like this book better than I did.

Definitely not as good as his other books. The premise was not believable.

The plot is somewhat interesting, but I couldn't slog through Goodkind's horrendous writing to figure out what would happen.

This is not what I would recommend for Middle Grade Special Order for Snoqualmie! It has several very graphic murder scenes that are totally brutal.
It has a very interesting few chapters on the Darknet and how it works although it also involves some paranormal fiction. The main character can recognize killers and murderers and know what they have done or are going to do by looking into their eyes or by looking at a photo of them.
