"Multi pass." One of the 90s most ridiculous movies is an over the top sci-fi lollapalooza that rips off 30 years of genre movies, tries to be funny, and throws in a love story for the heckuva it. French hack auteur Luc Besson, who came up with the idea for the movie when he was a teen, throws everything on the screen, and, at the very least, there's always something to look it. Most of the actors seem to have been given totally different directions: Bruce underplays, Gary Oldman, sporting absurd hair and a Southern accent, overplays, Ian Holm looks lost, Milla Jovovich has orange hair, and Chris Tucker, well, Chris Tucker. Maybe the most obnoxious performance of the decade. On the plus side, the costumes were designed by Jean-Paul Gaultier, musician Tricky has a small part, and it's not boring. Besson would return to sci-fi extravaganza with his recent "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets," which was just bad bad, not good bad.

These entertainers at their prime prime 21 years ago in this epic sci-fi comedy:
-Bruce: still ripped and with most of his hair.
-Milla Jovovich: the breakout role before Alice in the Resident Evil franchise.
-Besson: prolific French film maker of Taken franchise, Transporter trilogy, Lucy and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.
-Chris tucker: Comedian extraordinaire in drag.
-Gary Oldman: One of the most versatile actor, latest as Churchill in Darkest Hour.
- Ian Holm: Bilbo in Lord of the Rings and Hobbit franchises.

A great movie with a plot, villain and conclusion so wacky and insane that it wouldn't make any sense to someone who hasn't seen it if you tried to explain it to them. Aside from the numerous comedic moments, it doesn't make sense that this movie is so enjoyable or endearing. Yet somehow, it's really enjoyable. A truly 'fun' movie.

Could have been great but Chris Tucker ruins it

This movie is certainly an ambitious one, but perhaps it overstretched itself, or something was lacking in the final product for it to fully flower ( maybe Bruce Willis wasn't the best choice for lead role ). Design by artist Mobius makes this an eye popping affair .

This is one of my all-time favorite go-to movies. Even if you're not a sci-fi fan, there's something for everyone here. The ensemble is incredible and its one of the few movies I've seen where the main character and main antagonist never actually meet. It's simply brilliant and some of Besson's best work.

A real box office sleeper, I saw The Fifth Element in 1997 twice at the Theater! This is an excellent action sci-fi movie. Like most great sci-fi's there is a subtle love story, which blends the movie together. Gary Oldman is fantastic, and a new comer Milla Jovovich rocks the screen with her super model body and grace. Bruce of course saves the day. This is an amazing colorful smash hit film from Luc Besson!

Fear not for the future, folks, 'cause (get this) in the 23rd Century a real bad-ass, cab-driving mama's boy is gonna kick some serious alien butt and save all of mankind from total annihilation._____ Now, I wouldn't exactly say that The Fifth Element was the worst Sci-Fi movie ever made. No. But I would say that it was most certainly one of the most unhinged, most sloppy and badly-paced of that particular genre which I've ever seen._____ And - Would I say that The Fifth Element was so bad that it was almost (but not quite) good? Well, yeah, maybe I would._____ And - Would I say that I thought the whole religious angle of the story really stunk, big time? Yep. I'd say that was true._____ When it was revealed to me where the 4 Mystical Stones were being hidden I nearly choked, as the Diva Plavalaguana must've when she snarfed them down for safe keeping._____ Anyway, I don't know what all the fuss is about in regards to this movie. Aside from a few interesting visual effects it was basically an over-rated disappointment.
