Led to the depths of the desert to search for her artist husband after he disappears from their vacation in Morocco, Robin gets no easy pass from the brutality and corruption of the country, and finds herself "most wanted" by the authorities. The mix of twisting plot, tavelogue and shifting realities amazed me before I heard the author talk here.

I was expecting something close to Sheltering Sky and was very disappointed.
