intriguing cant wait to read the next book
The books in this series are very engaging. But after 5 cliff hanger endings, this really needs some closure.
Again the business aspects are boring (to me) compared to the political and personal. Except that the business scenes are all part of the Barrington-Clifton family's enemies' various attempts to destroy them. I give this one a marginally higher rating than the previous book, "Be Careful What you Wish For," because several characters learn from experience here. What a major reviewer calls Sebastion's "180 degree turn" is based on several years' worth of agonized thinking about a mistake he made, and efforts to come to terms with it. I won't give spoilers, but other members of the family also learn from, or show potential to learn from, experience. Again, Archer leaves us with multiple cliff hangers, including a major one at book's end. To be continued in the next one in the series, still not out. (At least not yet available at my library, the only place I'm willing to "spend my money" on this author.)
After 5 of the clifton' chronicles
I'm part of the family and enjoying it. this novel has it all!
I"m hoping it"s not over yet.
This series is getting a bit stale.
There is no question that Mr. Archer can spin a good tale and he does in this book too, but then leaves everything in the air so that you must buy the next book to see what happens. I am extremely annoyed that a publisher would allow this. It's fine to leave some unresolved plots, but at least the major points of the tale should reach a satisfactory conclusion and in this book you are left dangling - high and dry.
Another master piece by the master himself. Waiting for the next book.
Another great read; can't wait for volume six!
Couldn't put it down, excellent book. Can hardly wait for the next book.
What can anyone say about a master story teller like Jeffrey Archer? He said this was the last of the Clifton Chronicles but he's left another cliff hanger. Besides, this one is only 1970's. There just has to be more in the pipeline.
