Add a CommentStates it is historical about a real crime, the disappearance of the court painter Hans Holbein. The only history you get from this book is the painter disappears, Henry the VIII is king and the country is embroiled in political & religious turmoil. Characters were flat and hardly developed. The book is not balanced and decidedly one sided. Spoiler, the mystery of the painter's disappearance isn't historically investigated at all. Historical fiction? More like a completely fictitious story that is placed in history. Disappointing read.
a must read for all medeval mystery nuts
