Over the top continuous chase flick but oddly satisfying with a chick action heroine, fantastic special effects and strangely a sort of story line. Where they come up with the very strange characters is unknown but somewhere in Oz there is a factory that produces these made for movies creatures.

All action but so very very unusual and striking. It is grueling and gritty and I love Tom Hardy as Max. He is that great mix of solemn self preservation and hero by fault. Charlize Theron as Furiosa is a powerful character for the good of all. This is a great fairy tale and visually stunning but not for the faint of heart.

One of my all-time-favorite films, and the one that made me fall in love with Tom Hardy (as an actor) -- excellent continuation of the Mad Max series. Vivid washes of color with great storyline of damaged people doing the right thing, no matter what it will cost them, compelled me to drag my husband to see this three times in the theater and multiple times at home.

Every time I have had a little too much to drink, I start talking to any person I can about how perfect this film is. I cannot recommend this film enough. I loved every moment. Action packed from start to finish.

I'm old. I liked the original so much better and thought this was a poor remake. Too high on special effects, to low on everything else.

A seamless marriage of high and low brow, MAD MAX: FURY ROAD deserved all those Academy Award nominations (ten total, winning seven). The story is a feminist Western. Its view of patriarchy is not kind. Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy are the heroes, and their performances are spectacular. For anyone who grew up in the Reagan '80s with the Mel Gibson MAD MAX movies, this is a must-see.

Action film, futuristic, entertaining, gritty.

Themes: Survival. Trust, integrity, greed, lust, "what is life", what is of value?

All vehicles, and props are real (well worth watching all the bonus feature, making of..) made for the film, very little cg, story close to original (2nd) road warrior film.

Everything from costumes to art are made from local, recycled, waste (items people toss out) and materials that are found in and around the location, tool sheds, shops, etc. very resourceful, true art.

Ironic in the sense, that the story is set in the future : no water, lack of plants and trees, gas is protected..

In reality: filmimg in Africa, where resources are extremely limited, poverty is high...

... further Causing global warming, by using gas, fuel, diesel, electricity, water, in the dessert-- resources for pure profit (for a few) and entertainment in a land already experiencing these lack of resources.. Africa. So ironic.

Filmed in Africa.

I have all the Max Max movies, and this is a good one. Watched it 4 times, and all the bonus features. Excellent quality, workmanship, dedication to creating reality in art and design.

True testament to teams working together for one man's vision. Detailed story boards, all aspects of the film meticulously looked after.

Filled with car chase, stunts, (cirque du sole performers) engines, amazing vehicles and props, explosions, beautiful work, artistic shots and scenes, that further the story rather than just for shock value or effect.

Well done.

I thought I remembered a lot of awards for this movie in the recent academy ceremonies, so after realizing that it was a worthless horrible nothing of an effort, I kept trying to see if there were two movie called mad max fury road. But no - this is the only one. To quote an Australian reviewer:
"...Nothing in this movie is explained due to the almost non existent dialogue from all the characters. You are meant to just guess at the visual meaning of everything. The plot did not make sense and it was just one endless car chase scenario all seemingly without any refueling required. No one in this film required sleep or food it seems! …"

The best I can say for this movie is that it might be exciting for grade school kids but can only turn away older people.

Yes the special effects and equipment were great, stunt work exceptional, costuming and characters sort of unbelievable but even Mad Max needs a story line. I agree the second Mad Max- The Road Warrior was by far the best of the series let us hope they drop any thought of continuing sequels.
