I do not normally like these books comprised simply of the author’s collected newspaper articles, but this one is better than most, less repetition and genuinely interesting in spite of a very narrow focus. Criticism of both USDA and FDA for being totally subjugated to regulatory capture is a major theme, and leaves one wondering if improvement in this area will ever be possible, unlike signs of progress in many others like soda taxes, school lunches etc. Admittedly all US issues, but generally applicable nonetheless.
