Quite a bit different from any of Deutermann's other works, especially those which are about WW2 naval action in the Pacific. Its almost like a different writer completely. This one has a touch of off-beat comedy about it, and some strange secondary characters. The plot about poisonous plants is a bit far-fetched. Nevertheless, if you are looking for something a little different , give this one a try.
