Earthy Awakens --- by --- Orson Scott Card’
This is the third and concluding volume in the trilogy The Formic War. This volume sums it up. The bad guys get creamed and most of the good guys survive. The “final battle” is gruesome and spellbinding. You can’t have read the other volumes without reading Awakens. Just one thing: without spilling the beans: it ends on an ominous note.
A great romping read.

Although I would rate "Ender's Game" and "Speaker for the Dead" as excellent, I feel that the Ender series has gone downhill very quickly after Xenocide. This prequel trilogy tried to fill in some of the details about the First Formic War but I have some major problems with the books. Bingwen looks like a proto--Ender, the super-bright child who is smarter than most of the adults he has to deal with. Mazer and the MOPs are super-soldiers, but the regular military is amazingly ineffective. Victor, Imala, and Lem felt very one-dimensional. But I think the worst were the scenes inside the Formic ship. It appears that even though the Formics can build starships, a lot of their tech is purely mechanical, and spring-loaded catapults filled with random junk can destroy one of their giant landers. Never mind the fact that the MOPs can get inside and rework the plumbing without any Formics paying attention...

Earth Awakens - My 15th Orson Scott Card book of which 12 are from the Ender’s family of books. I agree with the accolades expressed by other reviewers; excellent book and excellent trilogy! Doctor-at-Bass! Taylor A.

Earth Awakens - Ender Book – Formic Wars Trilogy – Volume 3 in the prequel trilogy to Ender’s Game and many other books was on the mark right out-of-the-gate. Orson Scott Card fans need to read ‘Earth Unaware’ and ‘Earth Afire’ first. I agree with the endorsement offered by the first two reviewers of this book; an awesome book from cover–to-cover and a great finish to an outstanding trilogy! This was my 5th Ender’s book; one that was hard to put down. Senior Doctor-at-Bass! D. A.

I loved the triology and this book didn't disappoint. It is a page turner and you can't wait to find out what's next.
