This is a beautiful fever dream of a movie, showing what it's like when we live out young girls' fantasies in all their technicolor glory instead of saying over-the-top action movies are only worthwhile when they are based on boys desires. This was the perfect Galentine's Day movie when it came out in theaters and it remains so.

This movie reminds me so much of a 12 year old girl's fanfiction, and I adore it. The costume and scene designs are stunning, and the bad parts are the fun kind of bad. It's certainly not for everyone, but if the idea of Sean Bean as a half bee soldier hybrid intrigues you even a little, give this film a chance.

This was… an okay movie. Not the best, what with the shaky dialogue and unrealistic fighting scenes, but still an entertaining film.

I'd have to put this more in the category of Fantasy over Science Fiction with the flying boots, strange space craft and mythical creatures/aliens. Took me a while into the film to realize exactly what was happening. Starts off with Jupiter narrating her tale and then, before we know, we're off into Fantasy Land. Good fun movie, however. If you don't try to reason "how did that happen?" you're sure to enjoy. Great visual effects, sound, and of course the music.

Surprisingly enjoyable SciFi/Fantasy. Lots of intense action and some heartwarming moments of hero rescues damsel in distress. Didn't realize it was a Warchowski Brothers film of "The Mattix" fame.

The beautiful, ever-watchable Mila Kunis projects attractive, down-to-earth qualities that would have anchored the film, if not for the excess of video-game-like action sequences and boring, unoriginal writing, derived from a kitchen sink chaos of other sci fi films. I gave it 3 out of 5 stars for effort, including spectacular costumes, aliens & occasionally-believable visuals; but only see it if you love science fiction/fantasy. Better yet, re-watch the 1999 classic, "The Matrix" which remains as the Wachowskis' best work (but AVOID its dismally poor sequels).

The Good: Loud, great effects, great surround sound with or w/o ATMOS as you are immersed in the experience. Park your brain (the prince saves the princess). The Bad: Acting and story-line. Did I say the sound is awesome?

Many great quotes from IMDb:

Balem: My mother made me understand that every human society is a pyramid, and that some lives will always matter more than others. It is better to accept this than to pretend that it isn't true.

Jupiter: It's like my internal compass points directly at Mr. Wrong. Maybe it's my genes. Maybe I have defective engineering, too. And if that's the case, is there anyway to fix it?
Caine: [backing away] You are royalty now. I'm a splice, you don't understand what that means. I have more in common with a dog than I have with you.
Jupiter: I love dogs, I've always loved dogs.

Kalique: Each of us has the code for our optimal physical condition. The problem is our genes have an expiration date, which is transferred to ourselves. A long time ago someone figured out how to replace deteriorating cells with new ones. Today it's as easy as changing a light bulb.
Jupiter: Where do you get these light bulbs?
Kalique: We grow them.
