I think the main reason I read this book was for the sake of continuing and finishing the race. I didn't really particularly enjoy reading the first book until about 75% of the way through, so I guess it was more so a "mandatory" compulsive thing. The characters undergo major changes, which makes sense due to their surroundings, but it just didn't have that smoothness anymore. I really didn't like how it ended, but at the same time I sort of liked how certain people were kept alive and such. It felt too gory to read at many parts, and as a person who doesn't like war that much, this rebellion felt a bit... cheesy. 3/5 stars
