This is the latest in the Alex Benedict series which I have enjoyed greatly. This installment lacks the polish that the other ones had. It is two stories mashed together into one... it's like the author couldn't decide what to write about and so decided to write about both. Further, he's added too many references to current events in a story that is supposed to take place in 9000 years from now-- even a reference to his other series. Still worth reading if you liked the other books in his series, but this is probably one of the weakest.

I had fun with this. History buff's sleuthing ancient space history from our recent past. Nicely done.

About twenty-five pages in on this I began wondering if it had been written for teenagers. Another twenty pages or so and I gave up. I found it boring and unimaginative. this book is set eleven thousand years in humanity's future, yet other than technological changes all seemed the same as now. That idea itself could have been interesting but in this case was decidedly not. It just seemed to me that the author didn't put a lot of effort into this book.
