It was refreshing to read a book that wasn't about a "typical" teen experience like many YA books are. One of my favorite books I read in 2013.

The book got good in the middle near the end. Sadie takes the fall for her older sister Carla, so Lulu, Carla's daughter wouldn't be without a mother. The Juvie characters are forgettable. This book needs a sequel.
