I love the Chet and Bernie books (failed K-9 dog and private eye), but I disliked this so much that I only read 100 of 388 pages. Officer Luz is so mean-spirited that I couldn't care about her or her canine companion.
I found this a good read. Police work isn't funny, but portions of this had me laughing hysterically
I picked up this book, thinking it would be a funny read, along the lines of Janet Evanovich. But a few pages in, there was a paragraph that was so crude that it took me aback. (think police, and body cavity searches). It put me off so much that I wasn't really interested in this author, but thought I'd give it a few more pages. Then, when they partner her with a police dog, with little to no canine handling training, I found the "suspension of disbelief" a little too hard to take, and gave up on it. Might have gotten better, but couldn't be bothered to spend the time finding out.
