More "slick" than the original 1987 version with the modern CGI used, as well as general direction and mood. Original was much more depressing for the title character, with him losing contact with his wife and child until the very end, and that was only tentative. In the modern movie, the title character had much more "moral support," from wife being active on his behalf, as well as from the doctor and medical staff who "developed" him. He began to be treated more as a person than an object. His human consciousness overcame physical chemical manipulation and he became more "analog" and not subject to strict "yes/no" of computer programing.

Enjoyed the take on corporate media manipulating public sentiment.
