Add a CommentWay too much taking of Our LORD's name in vain. The story was interesting. But, because of the language, it is not recommended.
I actually thought this was pretty good. Certainly not boring. Good cast, good story and good acting.
It had some moments but nothing outstanding.
Skip it. Rather boring.
I do not care of CIA, U.S, Russia...something likes that. The interesting action scenes keep me in suspense. It is a good action film.
Too bourgeois, and the cinematography looks like they used a gray filter--even in the rainbow scene--uugh, I guess it is supposed to show the life of those types as never being sunny even when the sun is out, but I found it too contrived. Chris Pine (playing Ryan) was five-star in this, but the other well-known cast of actors and actress crowd had lousy scripts and makeup jobs that made them look overly ordinary, or as in other films--redundant. So, overall Pine's acting could not pull this through as the scenes he is in are usually lousy also.
I recall visiting an old friend when he and his wife had this playing, and no way was I interested in staying to watch it. Geez, I mean. . . the CIA? Who gave us 9/11? Former CIA guy, Frank Carlucci, is a co-founder of the Carlyle Group*, which appears again and again in relation to the missing Malaysian Airlines MH370, and the other co-founder was David Rubeinstein, nephew of Jacob Rubenstein, who changed his name to Jack Ruby! *Carlyle Group was former owner of ARINC, necessary to hack and cyberjack MH370. Carlyle Group, together with Blackstone Group, own Freescale Semiconductor, of whom 20 people from that company were aboard MH370. Et cetera, et cetera.
OK "orgin" story of our favorite CIA agent. Story was a little formulatric / predictable but, overall, very watchable. I just wish they'd cast someone besides Chris Pine ("Star Trek") as the hero.
An OK movie. Some decent suspense, but nothing special. Kenneth Branagh did a nice job in direction for an action film. I didn't see the original series with Harrison Ford, so I don't know if this is a re-boot or not, but it seems like it. The Jack Ryan character seems just too perfect in everything, especially his timing. Branagh & Kevin Costner were very good in their roles.
Good action movie.
