Told in the same "serial novel" format that made 2011's No Rest for the Dead such a commercial and critical success, Inherit the Dead is a collaboration among 20 of today's best-selling mystery and thriller authors each taking a chapter of the narrative and infusing it with their signature style.

The editor, Jonathan Santlofer, has arranged to donate any royalties in excess of editor and contributor compensation to Safe Horizon, a leading provider of services to victims of violence and abuse, making this a worthy and winning accomplishment that showcases today's finest writers at their very best. The authors are: Lee Child, Mark Billingham, Lawrence Block, C. J. Box , Ken Bruen, Alafair Burke , Stephen L. Carter, Marcia Clark, Mary Higgins Clark , Max Allan Collins, John Connolly, Linda Fairstein (Foreword), James Grady, Heather Graham, Bryan Gruley, Charlaine Harris, Val McDermid , S.J. Rozan, Jonathan Santlofer, Dana Stabenow, Lisa Unger, and Sarah Weinman. The mystery is pretty good, but what is really amazing is the ability of these authors, with very different styles of writing, to speak with continuity and one voice as the protagonist. If I had not known about the multiple authors, I would have believed the book was the work of one hand!! Recommend! Kristi & Abby Tabby

Although this is listed as a Lee Child book, only the forward is written by Lee Child. This is a mystery novel where each chapter is written by a different author (none of whom are Lee Child). Just trying to avoid confusion. Can't comment on the book yet as I am still reading it.
Update - I didn't finish reading this book. It didn't hold my interest.

Written chapter by chapter by a thriller writer. Flows really well considering the many authors.
