This was my first read by Susan Mallery and I enjoyed it. I found the characters attaching and real. There were a few clichés and some repetitions that were tedious, however, I would still recommend that book to a friend. Now I just started to read "The Friends We Keep" and I'm having a hard time getting into it. I find the writing juvenile comparing to Evening Stars. I find that so disappointing when an author is not consistent in her/his level of writing. It's happened so often that I LOVED a book, then was so looking forward to reading another one by the same author only to be let down and often times not finishing it. Because life is too short to read something that doesn't please you!

eye candy- easy to read, romance without being too erotic, some ongoing plausible background story, predictable but satisfying end.
