The three wily and beautiful McDougal sisters can swindle a man faster than it takes to lasso a calf. But their luck is running out, and they're about to be hauled off to jail. When the wagon carrying them falls under attack, each sister is picked up by a different man. Unfortunately for Abigail, she's grabbed by a twit of a shoe salesman. Enjoyed this book. Lighthearted adventure and romance set during the Civil War.

Very good book! It kept my interest. Abigail's life of trickery has finally caught up with her and she finds herself needing to be rescued during an Indian raid while on her way to prison. She is rescued by Mr. Hershall Digman - an odd sort of shoe salesman. Hershall Digman, is in fact, Captain Barrett Drake, a Confederate spy. When Abigail literally runs off with his intelligence documents; the chase is on . . . . and on . . . . . and on . . . . landing these two strangers into endless situations that have them second-guessing everything that they once held dear.

This book is a reissue of the first of three in the series "Sisters of Mercy Flats". I found it highly entertaining...a great read!
