Add a CommentTo celebrate their 50th anniversary, the culinary brains behind Weight Watchers have released a 280-recipe cookbook split into key chapters: breakfast all day, midday meals, classic starters, family entrées, meatless mainstays, Italian favourites, side stories and best-in-show. The authors begin with a helpful introduction covering healthy eating tips and (not surprisingly) a brief history of Weight Watchers.
This does not read like a "diet" cookbook. Recipes range from makeovers of the typically unhealthy fish and chips and pizza to the more "upscale" Moroccan swordfish with couscous. Most sound and look delicious, pleasurable to program-followers and non-dieters alike. The nutritional information and Weight Watcher "PointsPlus" count hide discreetly at the end of each recipe.
A smattering of high-quality photographs enhance the book but, for such a celebratory volume, one photo per dish doesn't seem like to much to ask for. Additionally, a mini-index at the start of each chapter would aid in navigation and measurements by weight (as well as US measures) would increase the book's readership. But, overall, a recommendable production to please any taste.
