I had never read an Andy Carpenter Lawyer/Detective book when I happened on this book. The book "blurb" pretty much says it all "25 dogs, 11 volunteers and 3 RV's in a cross country trip". That intrigued me... I laughed (and sometimes cried) so hard as I read this book! Sooo funny and sometimes sooo sad. But truly great....much more laughter than tears! I really admire what David Rosenfelt and his wife have done and are still doing for not just dog rescue, but for animal rescue too. After I read this book, I started reading the Andy Carpenter books by the author. Like the "Dogtripping" book there is lots of laughter but also some very serious stuff too. I have really enjoyed them and I have been reading them in order. I just finished "Who Let the Dog Out?"

The last thing I have to say about "Dogtripping" Gosh, I sure wish I had been one of the 11 volunteers! Mr. Rosenfelt, if you ever need to do this again, sign me up!

This was an interesting backdrop to the Andy Carpenter series -- one can see that characters in the series are truly based on some of the real folks in the author's life! The history behind the dogs that he and his wife take into their home, plus those that they rescue and subsequently place in homes is heart-tugging. The journey cross-country is as crazy as one would imagine it would be -- not for the faint of heart, to be sure. I cannot fathom the dedication to sheltering dogs that the author and his wife have -- I am a dog lover; I cannot imagine this total immersion of life and household!

I really love this book. It is such an amazing story. Mr. Rosenfelt and his wife (along with several volunteers) take their 25 rescue dogs on a road trip across the country. They are traveling all the way from California to their new home in Maine. The story is great and in many spots it is laugh out loud funny. Like with my family, you can tell how much they really love their dogs!

This was an inside look at how David's life became enriched with rescue dogs mostly due to his wife's love of the "unadoptables" at the rescue where she volunteered. I loved the profiles of many of the dogs rescued by David and his wife. The trip to move across the country seemed easy until you understood the complications of moving a pack of 25! Highly recommended.

Loved this book. If you're a dog lover you'll enjoy reading about the challenges they encountered in their trip across the country. This was written with typical David Rosenfelt humour as enjoyed in his other books.

I read this book in one sitting. |It's a simple story -- moving the 29 or so rescued dogs that are part of the household from California to Maine -- but it's engaging and full of love for the dogs and the people who help. It also has little portraits of some of the rescued dogs. All in all it reassures about the possibility of rescuing dogs of all ages and health.
