Add a CommentThe author presents an open-minded examination of the realm of extrasensory events. He frames his survey in the scientific method with rigorous set up of procedure, repeatable results, statistical likelihood, and respect for known laws of the physical world. What undermines this scrutiny is a wholesale acceptance of theoretical physics: for example, string theory cited as an explanation of an event. Basing credibility on one kind of (highly intellectualized) mathematical language and discounting experience because a terminology and rule-set have not been created is a bias in itself. Fraud serves no one, but a rigorous scientific groupthink demanding a lot of assumed ideas is also a kind of deception.
