Very touching book and written very well. Great illustrations . This is a story about the loss of a mother from the child's point of view , heartfelt story that explores the many emotions a bereaved child may experience , from anger and guilt to sadness and bewilderment . Tugs at the heart for sure .

I got choked up reading this book about a very young child missing his mother and experiencing the classic emotions children do -- wondering if he had anything to do with her disappearance, wondering whether she'd be back, and why she didn't take all her clothes or pick up the flowers they left for her.

This book is really, really good. Simple. Direct. And very moving. "A book about bereavement," though accurate, is somewhat limiting. Deserves a wider readership.
